FD4616 Fuel and FL2016 Oil Filter Kit Ford 6.0L Powerstroke

Fuel FiltersCE / ISO 9001

The complete filter service for the 2003-2007 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke in one box: the FD4616 fuel kit with its upper bowl element and lower lift pump element, plus the FL2016 oil cartridge. The fuel side separates 98% of free water and the oil side screens 98% of abrasives, so the injectors see clean fuel and clean oil at the same service.

❓ FAQ

Three elements, not one. The FD4616 side is a set of two fuel filters, the upper bowl element that sits on top of the engine and the lower lift pump element inside the frame-rail module. The FL2016 side is the single oil cartridge. So a full service on this engine takes all three, and this kit covers all three.

The 2006 E-450 6.0L uses a different fuel filter arrangement from the pickups, so the elements in this kit are not the ones that van takes. The oil cartridge in the kit is the same part the E-450 uses. If you have a 2006 E-450, buy the fuel filter for that application separately and use this kit for the oil side only.

No. It contains the three filter elements and the two fuel-side O-rings, but not the cap that closes the oil filter housing. The cartridge drops into the cap already on the engine. If your cap is cracked or its threads are damaged, it is listed separately as EC781.

They do not have to. The oil cartridge is due at 7,500 miles in normal service or 5,000 in severe service, while the fuel filters run to 15,000 normal and 10,000 severe. In practice that is one fuel service for roughly two oil changes. The kit is priced as a set so the parts are on the shelf when both come due, and you can use the elements on their own schedules.

90 days against manufacturing defects, covering pleat separation, collapsed media, valve failure and seal fit. The box contains the two fuel elements with their two O-rings and the oil cartridge. Every batch is checked for pleat count, seal fit, valve operation and flow before it is packed.

MOQ varies by product: 5–100 units for standard parts (see product page). Tier pricing decreases with volume. Custom parts usually ≥ 50 units, evaluated by process.

Description

Product Overview

This kit puts the whole filter service for the 2003-2007 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke V8 in one box. The FD4616 side supplies both fuel elements the engine uses, the upper bowl element that sits on top of the engine and the lower lift pump element inside the frame-rail conditioning module, together with two O-rings. The FL2016 side supplies the oil cartridge that drops into the cap on top of the engine.

Buying them together matters on this engine because both filters feed the same injectors. The 6.0L runs a HEUI system: the injectors are fired by high-pressure oil and metered by fuel, so dirty oil and dirty fuel both end up wearing the same plunger and tip. Servicing one and leaving the other is how a truck gets a clean oil change and still runs on contaminated fuel, or the reverse.

Key Features

All three elements in one order — Upper fuel bowl element, lower lift pump element and the oil cartridge. The 6.0L takes three filters in a full service and they normally arrive as three separate parts on different days.
98% free water separation — The lower fuel element doubles as the water separator inside the conditioning module, so free water is shed before it reaches the bowl and the injectors rather than being carried through.
98% abrasive capture on the oil side — Carbon, sand, dust and metal particles are held in the FL2016 media instead of circulating to the bearings and the high-pressure oil pump that fires the injectors.
Pressure-relief and anti-drain-back valves — The oil cartridge carries both. The relief valve opens instead of letting the pump crush a clogged element, and the drain-back valve keeps oil in the galleries so the top end is not dry on a cold start.
Two-stage fuel filtration — The lower element handles bulk water and coarse debris; the upper element is the final guard directly before the fuel rail. Replacing both is what makes the fuel side actually clean.
Oil changed but fuel filter left in — The two have different intervals, so the fuel filter often gets skipped on a quick oil change. On a HEUI engine that leaves the injectors running on whatever the old element is passing.
Only the upper fuel filter replaced — The lower element in the conditioning module is the one that collects water and is easy to forget. Doing the upper only puts a loaded separator back into the circuit.
A spin-on filter bought by mistake — Earlier and later Powerstroke generations use canisters. The 6.0L takes a cartridge that clips into the cap, and a spin-on will not fit the housing.
Parts ordered separately and one arrives late — With three elements in the service, a missing part means the truck sits with the oil drained. This kit ships the set together.
