❓ FAQ

The bowl fits Goldenrod 495, 495-3/4, 496, 496-3/4, 497 and 497-3/4 fuel tank filters. The 3/4 in and 1 in versions use the same bowl, so it does not matter which top cap thread your filter has.

No. The 495-4 is the bowl on its own, with the drain valve fitted. The top cap, gasket and water-block element are separate parts, because those are not what normally cracks.

Thin aftermarket bowls crack at the thread shoulder where the bowl meets the top cap, usually while being removed with a wrench. The 495-4 moulding is about 30% thicker and made in one piece, which is where that failure starts.

The bowl is moulded from alcohol-resistant polymer that stays stable with petrol, E10 and biodiesel blends up to B100. It does not go brittle with seasonal temperature swings or stress-crack in cold weather.

Watch the clear bowl: when fuel flow slows noticeably, the water-block element has absorbed its capacity, about half a cup, and needs replacing. A cloudy or cracked bowl is the reason to replace the bowl itself.

MOQ varies by product: 5–100 units for standard parts (see product page). Tier pricing decreases with volume. Custom parts usually ≥ 50 units, evaluated by process.

Description

Product Overview

495-4 is a replacement see-through bowl for Goldenrod style fuel tank filters, fitting 495, 495-3/4, 496, 496-3/4, 497 and 497-3/4 bodies as a direct swap. The bowl measures 130 mm (5.12 in) across and is moulded in one piece from alcohol-resistant polymer roughly 30% thicker than the standard market bowl, with a sediment drain valve at the base. It ships without the element or the top cap, and is rated for petrol, diesel, E10 and biodiesel blends up to B100.

Key Features

Fits six body numbers — the same bowl serves the 3/4 in and 1 in versions of the general purpose, water-block and biodiesel series, so one spare covers a mixed yard.
30% thicker wall — the one-piece moulding resists the cracking that starts at the thread shoulder on thin aftermarket bowls.
Alcohol-resistant polymer — petrol, E10 and biodiesel to B100 do not embrittle the bowl, and seasonal temperature swings do not stress-crack it.
Clear body — fuel colour and flow rate are visible without dismantling; when flow slows, the element is loaded and needs changing.
Drain valve in the base — water and sediment come out in one step without pulling the bowl off the top cap.
